Ato Fikadu Asfaw Demissie

Fikadu Asfaw is the founder of Fikadu Law Office. The Fikadu Asfaw obtained his Bachelor of Laws (LLB), his first degree, from Addis Ababa University, Faculty of Law, in June 2000 and his master's degree in laws (LLM), from the same Faculty specializing in areas of Private International Law and the Law of Business Organizations in 2008.

Professional experience:

  • June 2000 -  October 2000: Assistant Judge at the Federal First Instance Court;
  • November 2000 - May 2003: Legal Counselor and Attorney & Head of the Legal Research and Advisory Division (Legal Service Department) at the Construction and Business Bank (CBB);
  • May 2003 - October 2004: Legal Counselor and Attorney at the Debt Recovery and Legal Claims Division (Legal Service Department) of the Ethiopian Insurance Corporation (EIC);
  • November 2004 - up to now: an Independent Legal Counselor and Attorney at Law.
  • November 2003 - September 2004: Instructor for the course of Law Of Business Law (a law course designed for business practitioners including bankers, entrepreneurs, and managers) at the National College.
  • Since he started practicing law independently, Fikadu Asfaw has been rendering its legal services for various local and international organizations.

Professional Affiliations:

Fikadu Asfaw is currently a member of Ethiopian Lawyers Association, Ethiopian Law Graduates Alumni Association, Ethiopian Economic Professionals Association, and African Child Policy Forum.

Professor Selamu Bekele

Professor Selamu Bekele has obtained his Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Addis Ababa University, Faculty of Law, in 1967. He attended Harvard University for his masters' degree and obtained his Master of Laws (LLM) in General Legal Studies, in 1987. From 1967 to 1994, he was Professor of Law at Addis Ababa University, Faculty of Law. He also practiced law as a Private Attorney and Consultant.  Currently he is engaged in research and publication and works as part-time member of Fikadu Law Office sharing his legal expertise.

Ato Wondemagegne Tadesse

Ato Wondemagegn Tadesse obtained his Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Addis Ababa University, Faculty of Law, in June 2000 and his Master of Laws (LLM) in Public International Law in 2007 from the University of Oslo, Faculty of Law. Since his graduation from Addis Ababa University, he worked as Assistant Judge at the Federal High Court, lectured at the Commercial College of Addis Ababa University, the Faculty of Law (AAU) and various private colleges. After his masters degree, he also worked as a legal expert on human rights for the Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and, he was also part of the legal team at the Ethiopian Commodity Exchange (ECX). Currently he is teaching law at Addis Ababa University and is also part of the staff at the newly established Institute of Human Rights, Addis Ababa University. He is a part-time member of Fikadu Law Office.

Ato Eyoel Seife

Ato Eyoel Seife obtained his Bachelor of Laws (LLB), from Haromaya University, Faculty of Law, in June 2007. Since his graduation, he has been teaching law at the various private colleges. Currently he is working as a Law Journalist for some private Medias and teaching law courses. Further he is working with Fikadu Law Office as a part-time member.

W/t Tsion Hailemariam

W/t Tsion Hailemariam obtained her Bachelor of Laws LLB), from Addis Ababa University, Faculty of Law, in July 2008. She worked as a law clerk for the Ethiopian Intellectual Property Office, a Private Practitioner and as an assistant for a law professor at the Addis Ababa University. Currently She is working in Fikadu Law Office as a fulltime Lawyers' Assistant (Law Clerk).

W/t Ruth Afework obtained her Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Addis Ababa University, Faculty of Law, in July 2008. She worked as a law clerk for the Ethiopian Intellectual Property Office, a Private Practitioner and as an assistant for a law professor at the Addis Ababa University. Currently She is working in Fikadu Law Office as a fulltime law clerk and the Lawyers' Assistant (Law Clerk).

Ato Birhanu Habtamu

Ato Birhanu Habtamu obtained his Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Haromaya University, Faculty of Law, in June 2007 and worked as a Judge's Assistant (Law Clerk) at Amhara Regional Courts. Currently he is fulltime Lawyer's Assistant (Law Clerk) at Fikadu Law Office.
